Every great dream begins with a dreamer.
Always remember, you have within you
the strength, the patience, and the passion
to reach for the stars to change the world.

-Harriet Tubman

Are you a believer?  Do you feel the power within you to achieve your dreams?  Are you dreaming big enough?

Of course having a dream is only part of it. Dreams alone are not enough. You have to be willing to take action and become a doer as well. Yeah, that is totally the hard part. But the truth is that once you get started it isn’t that hard at all. It is kind of like when you get home from work and you’re in your pjamas and your friend calls you to go out. You don’t want to. You are all snuggly and stuff.  But your friend will not take no for an answer. Then you go out and end up having the time of your life.

I truly believe that the Universe provides for those who maintain their forward momentum while aiming toward a goal. Setting goals (a big one with a lot of little ones inside) is important. And you should totally give yourself credit for each and every one of the small steps. Write them down and then cross those babies off!  The small steps are the ones that let you feel that sense of accomplishment you need to boost you along the way to the larger goal.

One of my favorite notions comes from THE ALCHEMIST by Paul Coelho.

When a person is following their personal legend,
the Universe conspires in their favor.

Gosh, I just love that!

How often have you made a choice to do something and felt nothing but static and roadblocks coming at you? How often have you made a change, only to realize that this new path was the right one all along? Have you ever tried to do something rather daunting that seemed effortless? One of those “everything fell into place” situations?  I think that is the result of a goal plus true intention plus effort meeting the Universe at the perfect point in time.

What are you doing to help the Universe conspire in your favor? (It really wants to, you know.)

My B Read: BLEAK HOUSE by Charles Dickens. I read this a couple of years ago and then saw it on Audible.com so I listened to it as well. It’s a bulky read but I loved the story. I ADORED the audio. Unabridged, of course.

My B Listen: Band of Horses – No One’s Gonna Love You (more than I do).  I saw these guys live twice last year at two small venues in Denver. They are one of those gems that sounds even better live.

  1. Hey C! Frawesomesauce post! *lights your zen candles for you*

I had a total zen moment while reading this post. A lot of people nowadays are more concerned with the obstacles than the goal. The world needs more believers! (not to be confused with Beliebers – the world does not need more of THOSE…LOL)

Ruddy brilliant mate. That is all. :D

  2. Thanks, Corrine. I needed to read this right now because I’m feeling panicky in the face of my dream potentially coming true. I’d been re-listening to The Alchemist on my iPod… think I’ll go finish now~ :o) <3

  3. I have to read The Alchemist now, just for that quote. It’s wonderful!
I’m following you thanks to the A to Z challenge; I’m happy to have discovered your blog.

  4. Hello, I definitely agree, or want to agree, with this. It is hard sometimes, though, to put soooooooo much effort into something, and not see the expected results. One is apt to get discouraged at times. I’m a new follower.
