We interrupt our series on productivity to bring you a breaking news story. It is my very great pleasure to share with you the newest World to go live in Amazon Kindle Worlds.
This actually fits right in to the A-to-Z challenge, because today is Day 6 and that means we’re on F.
Have you ever read a book and wondered what happened to a character or asked what if the story took another turn? Did you ever dream up your own story? Kindle Worlds offers readers a chance to answer those questions by writing their own story in the Lei Crime Kindle World. Join me!
Kindle Worlds is a publishing platform under the Amazon umbrella where writers can create and publish stories within an already established world. There are already many popular “worlds” in place based off successful books, movies, and TV shows! It’s an exciting program where tie-ins and fan fiction are licensed and thus, protected.
Recently, my author friend and creator of the incredibly successful Lei Crime Series, Toby Neal, invited me to help launch her Lei Crime Kindle World! This is a very special achievement for Toby, being one of a few authors invited by Amazon to create a world of her own, and huge honor for me as I’ve been a fan of Toby’s work since the first Lei story, BLOOD ORCHIDS released several years ago. I announced this on my blog back in February, you can read in more detail here.
I’d like to give a shout out to each of my fellow authors on the launch team, as well as those working in the background. (You know who you are, Miss T!) This has been an exciting and fun project with an insanely tight deadline that I wasn’t sure I could make. But working with this team, knowing they also felt the time pressure, knowing they were pushing through, made it all seem possible. And in the end–it was! It’s an amazing lineup of terrific stories in the Lei Crime world, written by a group of professionals that I’m proud to be a part of.
I am honored to be one of 9 authors with stories launching today!
This has been such a wonderful project with a fabulous team of fellow authors and behind the scenes genius. I learned an ton and had a great time doing it. Each of these stories has a different flavor, and a different set of characters to go with the series favorites, each told in a different voice. And they all take place in the Lei Crime Series world, as imagined by Toby Neal. Which is *awesome*!
