I’ve been seeing this little lady in my morning window for the past few weeks, wondering where she was nesting. I knew she was nearby with the frequency with which she was appearing. This morning I was able to follow her flight path directly to a nearby tree. And what a lovely treat to catch her in her nest, protecting her eggs.
I only stayed a moment to snap a few shots, not wanting to disturb her overmuch. I thought this was the best of the bunch I got and wanted to share. This hummingbird is smaller than the others I’ve seen flying around here these days. The nest is smaller than a chicken’s egg. A small one.
Happy Tuesday!
